The quad was running the best it has since I bought right before I switched cylinders.. I switched out cylinders had a different one but had a problem with it. So I went to my old setup same jets everything the same except the power valve. The one I put in was moving a lot better then the old one. Opened and closed with a slight touch. Well when I was running the quad it didn't have any top end and also I didn't hear the valve close till late late rpms. I use to run the power valve setting at 1 and quarter turn. Well ive been messing with it for the last 3 days and I turn my power valve a half a turn. The quad started to run right again. It isn't perfect but runs real strong almost as good as it did. But then I turn my valve back to 1 turn and it wouldn't close and quad was running like crap again. So my question is how many of you guys have had this problem before. Also when rebuilding the bottom part of the power valve in the side case, is it best to buy all new stuff to redo or fix the one in their. Is their a certain part in the actuator that goes bad to cause the force not to kick the valve in. But the valve is free in the cylinder so that is not the cause. Tried different spring that didn't work so that leaves the actuator being bad. So if anyone know if a certain parts goes bad in the actuator would be greatly appreciated Thanks Brian

You might need a different spring, or re-index it, or use a different setting (1.25 turns isn't set in stone, it's different for everyone!).

Before I took this cylinder off I had it at 1 and quarter. Quad was running perfect on that setting,put it back on set everything back the same and it wouldn't close. I would run it wide open in 6th and end of the gear it would finally close with no top end power. I have 3 different springs tried them all no difference. It will only run decent at a half a turn. I m losing midrange from it closing it will not tune right. Either I lose some midrange or top end. The actuator is super loose. I thought about rebuilding it with when I rebuilt the bottom end but it work fine then. When I had my other cylinder on it was doing the same thing to but at the time I didn't know what was causing the problem. It has always worked on 1 turn or a little more. I guess it rebuild time with it. I m just wondering if their is one part in the actuator that goes bad or is it the whole thing.

you have it put back together right for it to work,
do you have the needle bearing on the right way, and when you adjusted it, you did start with it in the right position.
and all linkage is hooked up right.

Guys I never took the actuator apart. Yes to everything you wrote Grk. Is their a part that fails in the actuator over anything else is question I want to know more then anything.

well then turn it counter clock wise till it stops then set spring to 1 to 1 1/8 ccw.

That is the whole problem if you turn it more then a half counter clock wise it will not close the valve. It used to work fine at 1 and quarter turn counter Just a week ago!!. That why I think the actuator has went bad .It not taking the force to close the valve.If I turn the spring anymore then a half it screw the running of the quad up, Either I lose top or midrange their is no in between at this moment . I can get the quad to run pretty good but cant fine tune it because of the actuator not working properly.

I never took it apart that is why im asking if their is a certain part that fails in the actuator assembly
Where it wont set im fouling plugs now. I got a spare assembly im going to try that. But I will make a video tommorrow.

Have you made any changes to the engine combination. Changes in ports, pipe, head, ignition timing, air filter, carb or an extreme change in atmospheric conditions may require different power valve adjustment.

I forgot to ask about the transmission oil. Oil temperature and or changing oil viscosity can have a huge influence when the valve is activated

Running same oil in the tranny.The only thing I changed was the valve itself but it worked alot better then the old one.so
Much more free then the old one was

ok you switched cylinders, did you hook up linkage that works the power valve.

Well that's obvious grk, he said it would work with 1/2 turn but not at 1 1/4 turns.

Grk it is hooked up right the actuator just isnt work right. I will try to take some pics later.

Grk I will eat my words to you. You was right to check everything again, I went and took it apart to make a video
And notice the arm on power vavle was kind of loose. So I checked the bolt and it was tight. So I look at it some more
The peice that holds the spring was upside down. Flip it and now it works fine. Back to working it best at 1 and quarter turns.
