Ya sorry man. I been buggin him a little bit today. I think I'm gonna be pretty happy with the outcome of this. He didn't do the pipe that I didn't want anyway. A hondzilla? Who puts a zilla motor in a honda? If he did anything to the motor I'll be happy as hell. Especially if it says MHR on the side of it! It the head is cut great. If not no big deal. If it's apart or together, who cares. If the trans isn't back cut I'll send it in and have done. If the crank hasn't been done yet the dealer can do it no problem. Now to figure out how to put a honda front end on an 86? It seems no one has the balls to answer that question. A square peg in a round hole? Anyone care to give it shot yet? Cmon

Dangerous. You asked me not to discuss anything with Matt that you told me. So i didn't mention anything about any country sheriff.

I would like for Matt to actually make good on our deal. I already paid him for the parts he had to order. Which i hope he did indeed order. I am not relaxing one but on the situation though.

Also, when i did talk to him, i got excuses. Not once did he say this is my fault i will make it better.

Regardless, he can either finish my motor in a timely manner. Or he can send me ALL my parts back. As well  as the parts i paid for. After the attitude i just got on facebook today. I am not going to be patient and give him the benefit of the doubt now. He should know damn well people are upset. He runs a business of building motors and giving us a service. Hes going through a hard time sure i get that. But doesn't mean you can stop working and leave customers hanging without even so much as a check up call for months.

C:-) Listen up you two -->, you aren't going to make this any easier for anyone by spouting off  D? from this point forward.  I was there today.  I know more now regarding his situation and I have been in a somewhat similar place, actually within the last few years.  I will forever hold back what exactly went down today but I will tell you it wasn't as simple and pretty as my previous post might have made it sound.  You want to show up and get your stuff then by all means make that trek.  But for respect of others who right now are somewhat relieved that the man says everyone's parts are still there, please zip it! (Y)
Matt claims to have full intention to return these belongings if that is what people want.  If someone wants to talk to him about finishing engines ect... then hash it out with him via FB for now.  If you want help getting them back via shipping then allow Matt a chance to organize those parts once he has communicated with you and I will make the trips needed to get him to the nearest town as he gets things together and verify everything possible.  I met Matt nearly a year ago when I dropped mine off to him at a ride park near him.  I happen to live 1hr 10 minutes from him.  I had not seen him again until today.  The best way I can describe him right now is overwhelmed.  I hope we can get a couple (at least) accomplished this Wed. So my advice is play nice, suck up your pride and be encouraging not threatening just yet.  I'd rather not pick a bunch of stuff up and take it myself to ship due to any liability and confusion, although that would be much easier than driving several 3hr+ triangles until it is done(on top of the 2hr round trip commute I make to work each day).  I can tell you that demographically his location is challenging from the standpoint of convenience to run such a business whether it be for shipping, tools, parts, supplies ect...  The fact that he has turned out the work he has primarily building reliable old suzuki's  S~   and with that built enough reputation to get all of us to bring him business is due a little respect still.  Lastly we all probably agree that he has not handled this well and lately has not shown the fortitude to make much of a start at fixing it, but consider this:  If I told you that our stuff is an egg and handed it to you on the plate asking you to cross the room holding the plate out in front of you, please don't be the jackarse that uses the plate to fling the egg on the ceiling before taking the fist step.   0>me

I am not spouting off. But you are asking people to be patient and let him communicate. Which we all just wanted communication to begin with. That's fine you drove there and saw first hand. The rest of us have to take your word. Sorry but i don't know you.

Also i didn't threaten Matt once. I told him if things can't get squared away in a timely manner i would have to go the legal route. I think that's perfectly reasonable.  He gave me a time frame. BEFORE all of these problems popped up. Also even before his issues he was not so good at communication. So most of us don't want to hear it.

But if all i get is attitude and excuses i don't have much confidence in this. It took someone driving to his house to get him to communicate with us? That's complete garbage.

I have told my local detective that i would not like to pursue legal actions at this time due to actually getting in contact with him. I think that's fair enough.  Even though i have not been able to communicate with him. I'm yet again trusting Matts word, saying he will get me my motor. We shall see how things go. Because i would be happy with the motor he promised me, or just sending everything back. But i think its complete bullshit people have to pay return shipping because he couldn't come through on deals he was contracted to do. So people are wasting money sending items to him and back. I'm sorry but its not cheap to send a motor both ways TO HAVE ZERO WORK DONE TO THEM.

Last motor i shipped costed me about 120$ so you expect people to be ok with losing money from shipping it both ways, having no work done to said motors, and also have been waiting months just to lose money?

Like i said, i was totally fine waiting for my motor till i posted on Matts facebook and other random facebook people started messaging me, asking if i got a hold of him, then telling me what they've been going through with him. Doesn't make you feel warm and fuzzy inside when you have motors and parts and money with a guy you can't reach for months at a time.

Were you JHayes on QRHQ?  No I am on over 15 forums and use the same name although usually all caps.

87Quadzillaowner:

I don't disagree with what steps you have taken.  When I return there Wed. I plan to photo everything he has and then we can have some idea what we are dealing with.  If you cannot hold out until then I don't blame you for taking other means you seem fit.  However in communicating to him via FB or posting anywhere right now please try a cordial approach which I have good reason to believe will go a long way for us all.  I simply cannot just show up and get yours or I would.  Sorry if I was pointing anything too harsh your way, I would feel the same way if I were in your shoes but trust me on one thing if we are all tactful, then expect progress.  The loss of return shipping sucks, my stuff isn't exactly (nor what I loss today for my effort) how I hoped but I am glad things weren't worse.  I want to see everyone get what is theirs, I would hate to be in your shoes right now.  Just trying to pay it forward dude.  Also you and I didn't PM Saturday or Sunday like a few others did.  I am sorry for that, I tried to reach who I thought had stuff but was very busy in between work and my Son.

As far as the goofy egg scenario, our parts and this situation is like an egg.  The goal is to get it across the room safely.  Give it a chance. 2c

You sound pretty sincere to me, give him a few days guys. And start trying to come up with a list of parts sent, parts payed for and $$$ sent for machine work/services performed. Pictures will definatly help sorting all the parts.

Well the top end I shipped WAY back in 2012 sometime ( I forget exactly when).
The front clip I paid for on april 3rd same as the swingarm. Now it should take no more than A WEEK to box up parts and ship them out and I still don't have all the parts. The swingarm I paid the same time.
Now the deal on it is he gave me a deadline. 1 month. Well it turns out EVERYTHING was supposed to be shipped early in the week before memorial day weekend so I could go ride with my buddy's. Ya well that didn't even come close to happening and 4th of july weekend is now gone too!
But let me ask you a question. Does it matter how long I've been waiting on my parts or how many false deadlines Ive been given MANY of these dead lines now and Im tired of it. If it was gonna take a year then tell me that don't lie to me. And beginning of the month everything was supposed to be done and shipped within the week. Next week rolls around nothing is shipped no word from Matt I get ahold of him then he spills the beans and lone behold lied to again.
See unlike some of you I don't play games, and matt is just playin his game with some of you.

Hey DP did you typo when you typed that I could not return a sheriff's call?  Please explain.

(1)My work and my Son is 1 hour to the northeast from me and Matt is 1 hour ten minutes south west from me.  I'm about to spend my only week day off for two weeks and leave my son (whom I have to beg for the extra time with his mother) with family to get something done tomorrow.  He won't be riding his CRF50 with me tomorrow or go fishing ect.  I am not pleased with getting my assembled running engine back in 3 boxes of scattered parts and some new top end parts for my $400 cash but it is better than the worst I feared.  If you can't figure out where I stand on this situation by now then you aren't worth acknowledging from here on.  I'm fine with helping those that want me to, and fine with those that will go a different direction.  I stated before that I met Matt once when I dropped mine off approximately a year ago as well.  You think I am swinging from his nuts?  I feel sorry for the guy and believe that he should have cut off taking in so much and could have done things different to prevent some of this mess (should have seen some of it coming).  I also believe that **** do what they do....****.

(2)Now I was getting worried but we did make plans for me to meet up over there in the morning and he confirmed that just about sundown this evening.  He like me is iffy on whether or not it would be better for me to take every ones stuff at once who wants me too and ship it myself to save some trips and make people feel better about getting it away from him right now, but guys he isn't out to steal it and would eventually get to working on it again if things stabilize.  That is a risk either way we all know.  I am to compile the PMs and texts from those who expressed the desire to have me help and making a master list to him once I hit this post's reply button tonight so he can finish organizing all.

Gentlemen, I understand everyones frustration in this matter but lets keep this thread civil. If HayesTRX250 has the ability to get parts back, then the extra week or two of time he is asking for is not too much to ask for. With that being said, if it goes any longer than what is reasonable, then yes, everyone is entitled to contact the sheriff. Dangerouspower, you have every right to take your matter to the sheriff. However, it might be quicker to coordinate your efforts with HayesTRX. But the ball is in your court & nobody will fault you for taking your own action.

The issue is, he took on so much work. Now doesn't even know what belongs to who. He obviously isn't cut out for having his own business.

I will talk with Hayes, i hope he can help me out. He seems like a truly nice guy. Hes wasting his time, and money to help complete strangers out. I don't think its fair to him actually he has to take on the weight of this to help us and Matt out.

But here is the issue i see. Those of you that have paid for labor already, and he didn't do any of the work. What do you do now? If hes broke and has no money? ( But is trading raptor 350's for project muscle cars?) Even if you take a stone to court, you won't get blood from it.

Heres another issue, say Hayes does get our parts. Alright, what Matt claims is our parts. We pay him to ship the parts to us. Turns out the box is missing a mess load of parts? Wouldn't the liability go to Hayes who took the parts from Matt in the first place?

I would tread carefully. I don't want to see anything like this happen.

Guys like I just pointed out in a frustrating Pm reply, I was asked about an hour ago to look back through all the PMs and Texts to produce shipping addresses for each of you.  I know I asked for that to be sent to me via PM or text and to Matt via FB (which I can't say happened or not).  I asked for that more than once, I think on this open thread (too tired to find it now) and for sure on PMs and Texts.  Guess what, not a single one of you produced an address in preparation for tomorrow, no matter how this was gonna play out.
I think you are going to get a new line of contact within several hours figure out how to handle shipping costs and hopefully you can remember where you live or some safe house to receive your parts that must not be worth $60-$100 to get back.
I for one was advised by my old man to get my crap and get home.  Why worry about you guys he asked.  Let them deal with it theirs.  If I made this worse for any of you I am sorry.  A couple of you were great about this and couple of you were too hung up on why I tried to make Matt realize he should try to save face (I know a loosing proposition from the get go with some of you) act now.  I guess you couldn't understand why I would try like my old man.   By the way my answer to him was that to me, that was the difference in our character.

How many engines and how much in prepayments does Matt have form guys from other sites that we do not know about.  I bet that ALL of his customers/prospective customers are not members on this site.

The change of possession from Matt to Hayes doesn't make Hayes liable my agreement was with Matt so if Matt were to give my parts to anyone for them to send them to me on his behalf Matt is still liable. This why Matt messaged me on Facebook saying... Well ill just copy and paste it

Derrick I will have your head out this week, do you think you can send the head back , I know who's it is. There is a guy named Stephen Hayes trying to get me to give him everyone's parts he says he is going to ship them. But I'm not I don't know him that good.

I have a screen shot of the convo if nobody believes the pasted in message from Matt. Like I've stated previously it makes no sense for Matt to give someone else's parts to someone they don't belong to. And it appears as though Matt won't be doing that. I've talked to Matt and he is trying to get people their stuff however he's over loaded with people blowing him up am everyone demanding stuff back all at once I would be to in his shoes. I'm not justifying or defending him just so that's clear I'm just saying I understand the situation he's in. I believe it could be handled better and Matt and I have talked about that so far he hasn't taken my advice but you can't force a horse to drink.

MotorGeek, i have talked to 6 people not from here.I had random people messaging me after i posted a snotty comment on his facebook. All with stories like the ones you're hearing here.

( I will ship your stuff on said day, said day comes nothing shipped) People are tired of false promises including me. I got a little hot headed and said some nasty things on here, i'm sorry for that. I also trusted a facebook user with a personal message from here, i guess he sent to to someone then it got to Matt. I had no intentions of that happening, i just wanted people to be aware of what was happening.

What bothers me is. Some people are defending him after being lied to so many times.
Doesn't the saying go, fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me?
Is there a third time with a saying? A fourth? A fifth? Some of these guys have been promised multiple shipping dates with no packages yet.

I'm just going to stop posting in this thread, because i'm letting my emotions post for me. I'm saying things and goofing up like i normally wouldn't.

Also buckeye, Matt told me. He would give Hayes my stuff if i wrote him a letter saying he could hand over all my belongings to Hayes, thats the only way he would do it. The second i would of sent that letter, then Matt gave him my parts... Yes that would make Hayes liable . Because i had to give Matt written permission to do so.

No but, i thought Matt told everyone that? That's what he told me.

This is what he said word for word. ( if you send me a sighned notorized letter i will let him pick it up)

So i just assumed that's how the whole deal was working.

Gentlemen,

From here on out, lets keep the posts in this thread about progress towards getting this issue resolved.  No need to bash anymore.

There's absolutely no reason to turn on each other.  You all are on the same side with a common problem.  Any other issues, please take care of them via PM.

Hayes, thanks for taking the time out of your schedule to help resolve the issue.
