The New Suzuki Quadracer HQ Welcomes All LT500 Quadzilla, LT250, LTR450, LTZ400, LTZ250, LT80 owners to the Suzuki Quadracer HQ forums
http://Hello QR enthusiasts!Long story short, wore out a Zilla frame but felt good about engine that I have been running since 2007. With engine out, and frame sent out for repairs, I decided to mock up a TRX chassis to see what all I was going to have to do to make it happen. I was thinking that I may have better luck with a gusseted box frame. Time will tell. I did not want to have to mess around with pipe fabrication (since I already had one) so the whole build was based around the pipe. I contacted a friend that could drink beer(important) and weld(important). I showed him how the engine HAD to be exactly located and he did the rest. Thank you Jason H.!!! Very nice job! Got lucky and found a set of yellow Full Bore plastics and from that point on, I knew that the frame had to be coated "our" blue. TRX450 radiator with fan was a tight fit but not impossible. LED lights and battery install was made easy by all the info available here! Thank you Rogue1970 and many others for your time that you have spent here for all to enjoy! Although I do not post, I have been a Quad Racer HQ guy for many years. I check the site multiple times most every day! Without all the info on here, I probably would not have enjoyed my 500 in the way that I do!!! It sure is a "way of life" for me! (Ask my wife) Thanks again to Skully, Q, Jerry, Dale, Carl, Mitch, Q2W, MaxxH20, and many many others for your precious time that you have spent here!!! You know who you are!Z4L loves QRHQ. Please Note: This was a budget build! Everything is butchered up! Tires even leaking something? It is basically junk patched together! There is difference between modified and altered! It is hard to start, it runs like ****, smokes bad and vibrates! It is not worth stealing. Leave Tina alone.
hows it handle compared to the 500?
So badass it's not funny been thinking of trading my banshee for a trx and selling the trx motor and swapping in my 500 motor and as luck would have it I own the same pipe. Nice to know it can be done and what looks like not a **** load of fab work required.
Other problem with making a R motor make the same power as a 500 is its basically a drag power curve and you lose all usable power in the lower rpm range that is what makes the 500 so badass.
Hello,Thanks guys!It is BaddassR than it was. I am sure that I would love one of those high end Puma engines. I was asked more than a few times during the process of the build, why I did not want to utilize the Honda engine? Just bolt it right in and rip! I already had the 500 engine which I have been having an affair with since 2007. I know every millimeter about her. And when I am done with her, there is a good chance that I will be seen on her sister. Buckeye, you should be shoehorning that Banshee engine in a 250R frame. Buy a roller. Just because of the song that they sing!I was worried about posting up some more pics cause I know how everyone loves pics, and then I just seen that there are more pics in that bucket than I thought. Just click on the pic.I am very thankful for the "good job making that work" comment from Dale. It means a lot to the little guy. Unfortunately, you scared me when you said that those 450 shocks were too stiff for you. If I remember correctly, you are much bigger than me in size so I don't think that they would suit me very well either. I am only 140 lbs. with M/X boots and dual carrier beer helmet on. Oh Canada, That is quite a signature you have there! I would love to see your CR500. Happy Thanksgiving all!!! Regards,Z4L
