Again, its easy to blame one person for all your mishaps. I just talked to another guy on facebook tonight. He claims he has been waiting a year for his parts from Matt. There is no way she caused a years worth of delays on getting work done or/ parts sent out. Not to mention now that shes gone, why can he not answer the phone or re-turn phone calls. This all smells of ****.

I talkes to Matts son tonight. I asked if he could please get his father in touch with me. All i got was. ( I will do my best)
I should not have to contact the mans son to get answers or a phone call.

I talked to his son. Like someone said to do. But his father still has not contacted me. I messaged his boy today again while he was on facebook. He saw my message because it says *seen with a time stamp* then he signed off right away. Caught him on again he didn't message me.

Its complete and utter garbage i have to contact a grown mans son to find out whats going on.

So is anyone actually taking a trip to his house? I know a few people have mentioned it. But give me a pm if you are truly heading out that way. Thanks.

Alright now i am officially pissed off. I have tried contacting his son who then told me he hadn't talked to his father.

BUT the kid just posted a new car his father just bought saying *dads new toy* if he has money and time to go buy a car and trailer it home he can find 5 minutes to give me a call.

I don't have a dog in this fight but I certainly understand that bad business dealings have occurred. Might I suggest that someone talk to his local County Attorney's Office to file criminal charges. However, they may tell you to go through the local police or sheriff department first.

Someone who has parts missing might want to take the lead.  Either on this post or a seperate post comprise a list of each member that has been affected by his poor business dealings,  have a list of every part still missing, any money paid to him and what was to be done.  Those involved then should begin to find any pictures of your stuf, check your banks for proof of what has been paid etc, start to create to the best of your memory dates and what what was said when and to whom.

If you have all that info compiled and presented together to local law enforcement or state district attorneys office they will take it more seriously and better understand the scope of what has happened and tell  you what action to take or how they might help you.

I feel for Matt and what he is going through.....but there is no excuse for the lack of communication.....putting your head in the sand might be easy and comportable but it only compounds the problem.   He should contact each person and say A) I lost your stuff--lets make it right   B) Im behind but I still have it (include a picture as proof) and ask customer if they want it back or want to wait to have it done.--that one is obvious.
AND RETURN ANY MONEY PAID...

Something is so so wrong here---I fear if he had your parts still he would be contacting people complaining and communicating...I HOPE I AM WRONG.  But one does have to wonder.  Im sorry some of you have to go through this.  IT HAS TO SUCK!!!

I'm looking at some options to take a drive up there. It's a 700 mile, 12-hour trip for me but its too hard to list out everything that I have with him and some of the parts are near-irreplaceable.

Honestly Matt seems about like the most straight up guy in the world. And the talk about criminal charges just seems like a little much. Maybe it really wouldn't be a bad idea to cut the guy a break for awhile and give him a little breathing room for awhile shoot. He has never screwed anyone before and I highly doubt he is gonna start now. Shoot when things went south with me and my ole lady I didn't do anything for a long long time. It's been two years and I'm just getting into the groove again. Maybe cut the guy a little slack. Have a little sympathy. Ya maybe he isn't answering the phone or messages. I tried to put myself in his shoes today. To truly put myself in his shoes. People are angry at him because their expectations are too high. I got a little upset too, I'm not gonna lie. I expected too much from Matt. Right now I hope he keeps his sanity, keeps promoting the sport, I hope he gets the site back up sometime, I hope he is taking care of himself. He is a good man. He does tons for the sport. He doesn't need this. And really if people keep getting him more stressed out its just gonna make it worse. How many of you know Matt? And for how long? He's not going anywhere, selling any parts. It's just a little slower and quite than usual. Maybe if you all just give the guy some space for a little bit. But I can tell you one thing. Calling the cops, and trying to get him thrown in jail is not gonna get a motor built. This guy I do do work for texts me twice asking the same question and it passes me off. Everyone blowing his phone up and all that. He needs to go fishing for a couple days even weeks weather you all like it or not. And it would be nice and thoughtful if someone could send him some rapalas or jitter bugs. Crawlers maybe. He is no different than us. As much as I want my motor done yesterday. I'd really like to see Matt taking a little break, having a cold beer and going fishing. He might just smile when he comes back? Maybe. And everyone else needs to go fishing too and take a little break.

when i first heard of all of this going down, I sent him a message telling him i heard the bad news and to keep his chin up.  Told him he would come out stronger in the end after all of this passes and said myself and others are there if he needs anything getting through this tough time.  I didn't mention a word about my parts or motor at all.  I told him to e-mail me back to make sure he was good and to just extend an offer out there.  Weeks later, no reply and started to worry about my stuff.  Now zero communication whatsoever and just starting to get a little nervous about it.  A call or text or e-mail from him would put me more at ease.  But I'm not getting that.... Can't help but think of Q's divorce, Scammy and all that went down after that....

We all need to be careful what details we put out on an open forum from this point forward.  We also need to consider that the dissolution of the divorce could be our worst enemy regardless of Matt's intentions.  Divorces are expensive and can easily cost upwards of $20,000.00 or more.  One might assume Matt is holding approximately that much in parts and cash from incomplete labor.  If his new shop is leased and the rent is not paid we could lose that easily.  If anyone gets him on the phone we need to get him to post here.  He is likely to be visited soon; one would think.  He is going through a tough time for sure, but it is time for a honest inventory status.

If we get our stuff back I for one can't condemn him, the guy does good work cheap.  You get what you pay for.

Patrick, I understand you completely. The problem is that he is in a business situation. He is not doing the work as a favor, but for profit. I went through the big D myself a few years back. But I wasn't the one responsible for working on  paying customers parts. Although it can be a cloudy situation at times, your customer has to come first if you expect to run a successful business. If not, a business will follow along with the marriage, down the drain.

Besides that, I think we are tired of hearing the divorce excuse from another builder   -->

I'm not even mad at Matt, man. I don't want to have to go to legal steps to get my stuff back because like I said before, I consider Matt a friend. I still do even after all this. I mean, hell. I really don't think he would sell our parts out from under us. When I talked to him te day the post was made you could tell the guy was just tore down. I feel bad for wanting to go to measures just to get my parts back.

But the 'business owner' aspect comes back. And the 'divorces are costly' aspect as well.. I've got adult friends who lost everything in divorces. And that's tickling the back of my mind all the time....

Hopefully I can find someone willing to split the drive up there. I'd like to talk to him in person. We can say all we want behind a key board, but face to face it all comes out ya know?

I've said my piece for now. I'll be checking back for updates but I mean there's nothing else to really say here on the boards anyway. We will just have to ride this one out y'all. See where the river takes us. Kansas comes to mind 'All we are is dust in the wind' haha lmao,,,, man I don't need to be forum surfing, talking about serious matters at 1 in the morning (ok, 12:40)

You guys can give him more time but I've been nice and giving him more time for months now and look where it's getting! Matt not getting my parts out is affecting MY life. This whole spring and summer I have not been able to ride my quad with my friends because he is taking WAY to much time to ship parts. Today my father is checking up with the county sheriff and we are taking next step.

Giving him more time is honerable of you......a phone call, an email a status update of your parts would be honerable from him....

You know, you can still get the sherif involved to access the situation and get your parts or verify they are there WITHOUT taking any legal action to create problem for matt if they are not justified.  If you go there with the sherif and  he does not have parts, wont return money paid for services not provided then at that point you know what you are dealing with and  if necessary can take appropriate legal action at that point.

You need an accounting of your parts , PERIOD!  If matt wont provide that with communication then pay him a visit with sherif to record and verify what is going on.  Matt may simply may hand over your parts and money.  Human nature at this point is to assume the worst.  He may have all your parts sitting on a shelf, he may not....its time to stop HOPING---and start finding out.   Getting a sheriff involved does not get him in trouble with the law,  It may save him  from lots of legal trouble and more drama in his life.  Just my .02    Jou each have to do what your heard and head tell you is best for you.

I express all this, only because I have been through the EXACT same thing and it didnt end well.  Had I taken action sooner, it would have been better.

Well I get home and my net is acting up so here goes from the phone.  Showed up at Matt's this morning and I will tell you the guy is down and out but not a thief.  I don't think he is planning to start working in his shop for a bit and understands that most will want parts returned.  I offered to help facilitate and plan to come back over this Wednesday and START shipping.  If this plan works for you guys I could collect shipping costs via paypal as we go.  The Sheriff Rick Clemons (not cummings as mentioned before) happens to have been a successful GNCC racer in 93-94.  He knew Hawk, Ballance, Yokley, and he has known Matt most of his life.  He told me Matt was talented and honest,  sometimes drags his feet.  In his situation I can see why he is overwelmed.  He told me Tiffany took all the notes, receipts, and contact info when she left.  As I posted earlier use his FB profile and yes there are two of them.  One has his middle name "Neil" as the middle name.  Send in what you have with him, full contact info and shipping info.  Work out any details with him and keep me posted as well so I can back it up and see it through with him.  Please play nice and dont bash or badger him right now.  He wants everyone to get their stuff back and I believe that is gonna be ok.  Bashing is not going to help right now.  Pm me phone numbers to text and then I can add contacts and parts lists...send pics if at all possible.

Major props to Stephen for helping us out and doing this.  Not many people would go completely out of their way for others they only know through a keyboard.   The drive time, the gas, the effort, and your time.  Stephen, I owe you big time for doing this.  Not a lot of good people out there that would be this helpful for others. Truly appreciate it!  Good karma coming your way....

Thanks for the kind words, we aren't completely out of the woods just yet but everyone please be patient.  Don't bother with Matt's former email until he gives out a new one.  She has control of that.
