92 LT250R
« on: August 06, 2014, 09:28:02 am »
Couple Weeks back I bought a 1992 LT250R. I love the bike and it runs great. Has many things done to it already... However the guy that owned it before me never changed the exhaust head pipe out and the other day riding it... What was just a tiny hole in the stock OEM exhaust, Flanged out and its louder than hell. I was/have been looking into getting a new exhaust anyway. Anyone have anything or any suggestions? Only 3 companies I can find that still make exhaust for this (besides special order) is FMF, DG, and CT. I was about to go with a CT, but I dont really like how the exhaust points straight down to the ground. Also looking for nerf bars. Thanks.

Yeah, And it looks like I could get them fairly easy through this very helpful forum. But its really hard for me to justify paying half a thousand dollars for exhaust. Yes I know it will help a ton, and money really isnt a problem... But is their really nothing out their that is decent for $300 or less?

Is it even worth repairing the original Pipe? Why spend money on trash? But, if any of you do have any connection to say maybe a Paul Turner, FTZ or Dynoport exhaust for my quad. Please let me know.

i bought it used off ebay and the flange that bolts to the motor was welded on. being new to 2 strokes, i didn't see an issue with it and it made my bike wake up from the dead so i didn't care. but after about 2 years running it, the weld finally broke, thats when i found out from guru's that the pipe cannot be hard mounted it needs to move. with that being said it needs a piece welded on that will slip over the exhaust flange and i new mount that goes to the frame as it never had one. i have a stock pipe to cut up for parts but i found a deal on a LRD so i never had it done.

What Year did you run that pipe on? Curious because your stock exhaust looks different than mine. Anyway, Where do you live and what price would you put on it?

Mine is a '91, I'm not too sure if that is a stock pipe, might be a DG idk. I'm in East Texas not trying to make a killing off of it, I'll have to figure out shipping, where are you located?
