Take the 4 screw out of the bottom then you take out the jets the brass pieces,One sticks out and the other needs a small flat head screw diver to take it out.Spray carb cleaner in their and soak it.The blow the jets carefully with a air compresser. Then blow out where the jets went in the carb,Then turn the carb over to the oval side going to the airbox and blow air threw the 3 little holes.Do this a few times to make sure its clean.Well then put jets back in and put the bowl on .Then put it back   on the quad .Also you will have to take the little screw out of the top where the cable goes in the carb.To remove the slide should have said this step first.Hope this help you

I had it opened and I unscrewed the bottom and There was a screw holding a pice of round plastic,Took that off and I see a jet,Not sure if it screws out or not,I blow all the holes clean tho.where is the idle screw on these?

i think the jet is a 6mm, and yes it screws out, the other jet uses a very small screw driver

Did you sober up and try it.il try to make a video on my youtube tomorrow of basic cleaning of the stock carb if i get the time or if it isnt to cold.So you can get riding your lt250r. I would check ebay for some replacement reeds for the 87.you can find boysen for cheap sometimes. Also if their stock it time to replace them anyways , you will get better performance from the new reeds    which is always a gain.
