Got signed in yesterday.!!!
If I'm understanding all 238 pages correctly, looks like we got a lot of/most of, the southern closed areas back.
Seems like tree huggers have 90 ? days or 30 days ? to file a protest or appeal. But more or less its a done thing, in 90 days the closed areas open back up.

Bring some extra fuel my friends, we're going on a tour...

That's great news, considering all I'm used to hearing is how much area they are closing down.
Thanks for the update!!

Looks a lot better than it did when I was there.
I was told that the real China wall was off limits, so I'm guessing it's ok to go there now?

This really good news. Maybe a trend is starting.

Johnson Valley (think King of the Hammers competition) is being protected from military encroachment.

That's awesome news since there is no legal riding areas where i live within an hours drive.

Ride to to the border crossing/Algodones Mex for authentic mexican tacos, get your boots shined, pick up that souvenir machete, pray you didn't drink anything with their water..... Almost an adventure  :))

My friends & I once rode our little Honda 110's & 125's from my parents house, down 8th Street, crossed the Colorado River behind Morelos Dam, & into Algodones. But we were 14 or 15 at the time.

But i'm glad to see them opening up some of the restricted areas. There is beautiful dunes back in those places. Now if we can get them to do something about the dune pass issue!

Forget the dune pass issue and go anyway.

Well they did pass the RAMP with option 8 BUT there is a 90 day window and enviro-mental groups are already putting up a stink.  If they protest which I'm sure they will it will go to court and based on the process, it can take up to another 6 months.

The ASA http://www.americansandassociation.org/  just put a bulletin out regarding the possible delays and the process.  You ca join up on their email list if you want to stay involved and informed so you know your rights and when things are happening

Dez; there is no more going to Mexico, that ended years ago from what I've been told.  Now there is a 30ft high fence south of the dunes on the border and lots of patrols where you can't get within 100ft of the fence as a lot of cartels & coyotes where running stuff across down there

Aww man say it isn't so....

We used to ride the canal road to the border crossing, ride into algodones. Then we had to park our atvs next to the border crossing & walk across...  Yeah haven't done that adventure in at least 20 years?

Dez, it is so. 9 / 11 changed everything. Even with the wall, smugglers have tried to build ramps to drive Jeep Cherokees over the top. But Honestly, even with the Border Patrol & BLM Ranger presence, I would still keep a 9 in the glove box just in case.
