So Im gonna be going for a close to stock look. I went with Race cut plastics. I got a new seat cover , I know the blues are not the same but it was a shot in the dark , its hard to know exactly what color all these after market parts are gonna be. The other dark blue piece for the radiator hasnt arrived yet.

Looks good!
So what do you plan on doing with the original plastics?
Try POM rivets on the plastics if you have trouble with the fender clips.

As for the paint, there's a rattle can color that comes real close to it but I don't have the brand or color code.
There's also a powder coat that's really close if you wanted to do an in-depth restoration.
Someone's likely to chime in with additional info.

Are you trying to go for a mostly stock restoration, or were you wanting to give it more power too?

WestTX I am going for mostly stock look but I definitely am gonna try and get a little more power , its still running the FMF set up  but as far as Im tracking its got stock everything , bore, reeds, the whole bit.  so I was thinking Boyesen reeds maybe a cool head with 22-23cc Dome. and some hot gas 100-100 oct. And Im not too familiar on air flow set up for the filter though so that too is to be determined.

Also I dont really know what Im gonna do with the original plastics, its a little faded honestly , so IDK if they are sellable or not , they arent in bad shape but they are def used. If youre interested Ill sell em for next to nothing

For frame color krylon true blue is pretty close. Its a tad bit brighter than the stock color. And i believe theres a blue ford engine paint. I believe that ones a tad bit darker. Im sure someone else can chime in on that

I should take my last can PJ1 Suzuki Blue to an automotive paint shop to see if they can match it up. That way I can share the paint code with y'all.

I think there was a poll on twist or thumb either here or on 2strokecentral  I prefer thumb and I rode motorcycles half my life. I like twist on a bike and thumb on a quad

The 92's are my favorite year and color scheme, but I do not know much about the 250's.

Are OEM plastics still available from Suzuki? And what about that rare camo seat.  That whole camo scheme is awesome and always wanted one. Check out FXPitrone, he had restored a nice 92 only without the camo seat though.

I want to say partzilla has the oem plastics for sale but that are very pricey.  As far as the thumb throttle goes im gonna give the thumb a go of it for awhile and if i hate it ill switch.

any good paint shop should have the machine that just needs a 4x4 square of the painted surface and they can
match it to a exact.

Dedication!!!
« Reply #24 on: February 20, 2013, 11:00:42 pm »
Well guys , I got back from Afghanistan 3 days ago and we are currently having half days at work for reintegration  , so I decided I needed to go pick up the LT in Tucson , well Tucson is 330 miles one way from my house. My brother was watching the bike for me until I got back and the original plan was to go down to Tucson in a week or two on the weekend.  Well I left today , drove the 4.5 hours there, put the Quad in the trailer and drove back another 4.5 hours. Over 650 miles in one day........I think that is dedication.........if you cant tell Im excited to get started
