The head gasket of my zilla is not tight. always dripping out cool water. should I let the cyl. surface grind? the bolt out and use bolts 10th? what do you think?[/quotQuote from: Frank on June 12, 2014, 12:58:13 pmHere is the piston bore size 87,5The scratches around the dome ?I think that is an broken piston ring of the damage from the boy bevore.Send this to jerry have too much shipping costs for me to send this from Frankfurt Germany !i think the o ringed head is not easy to seal? I have problems with a Powerhead in the past on an other Zyl.FrankThe piston looks like it is making contact with the outer edges of the combustion chamber or head gasket. The photos are not from a view point that I can be certain. A piston that that is hitting the head may also cause detonation. Detonation can erode through the metal ring of the head gasket. A piston that is hitting the head can strip the threads in the cylinder. A piston that is hitting the head can also reduce the clamping force the head bolts provide. Are you certain the gasket surface is flat on the head and the top of the cylinder? It also looks like one of the flanges on one of the head studs is not recessed below the head gasket surface like the rest of the studs. If this is true that stud may not hold the necessary torque to provide enough clamping force to prevent the head gasket surface from leaking. The threads in the cylinder may be sheared on that stud.I need the cylinder and the head in my hands to provide any better diagnosis.
