Little Sahara, Oklahoma: Dune Ride
« on: June 12, 2015, 06:17:46 am »
Dusting off the zilla and going to do my best to break her at the dunes the weekend of June, 26-28.

Come on out.  I'd imagine we'll have the dunes mostly to ourselves so expect nice smooth sand.

Be about 4 or 5 of us going.  Only 2 Quadracers so the more the merrier.

 D?

Go after a windy day. Went there like 3 years ago, thursday it was so windy you couldn't ride. Friday morning, the sand was perfect. Smooth and no tracks. Friday at lunch, place was already **** in the busy sections.

about go time!  Fire my zilla up last night and pissed off the neighbors.

Think we are staying in the south campground near the wooded area south of the dune entrance.  Hoping for some shade.  Nights look perfect though, low 60's!

Well, the old girl is still running strong after another weekend.  I can tell the motor is getting a little tired and will need a rebuild soon.

This makes 8 years without an engine failure.  Not many 4 pokes can say that!

Didn't take many pics.  But i have some video of a Rzr destroying it's rear suspension.  I'll put it up when i get it.  O, and fire burnouts.

About to head out.

The weather really nice for being almost July.  This was taken about 10 minutes before the other 2 bikes went down.

Glad you had fun. We have been seeing temps above 110 degrees now for the past 3 weeks with no relief in sight. We even hit 118 last week. No dune riding here until October.
