preferred tire size
« on: December 16, 2013, 08:15:45 am »
So needing to buy new tires for both of my LT's.  I have 21x10-10 on my 88 and I really like that size however the 21x10-10 size is really hard to find.  My 85 has 22x10-10 on the rears but never really got to ride it.  I got it free and the motor was destroyed, just stuck a new motor in it last night.  What are most guys running 20in or 22in rears.  This is for trails, so I am thinking the 20in tires would probably be best.  Currently looking at the GBC XC Master through Costco, I can get all 8 for less than $450 if I go with the 20in rears and 22in fronts.

that should be fine, just make sure the front tire is bigger than the rear. it makes it harder to control it.
i run 21 front and 20 rear. 22 front makes it look funny, for some reason the tires looks huge.

I will forever run 18s. Sure you get hung up the odd time. But they make the quad feel so much more stable and easier to predict when pushing the quad to its limits. I suppose if you just take 'er easy all the time 20s would be better though

I  would have went with 21 in the front . I ran 22 razr 2s on the front with 20 on the rear For a year. Just switch to 21 on the front. Wish I would have bought 21 a year ago. Handles so much better. Looks so much better to.  Im with Grk on this.
