If you want to run your 86 for drag racing. Than you will need a port job. Head cut.for race fuel. Different pipe and carb. Rudy Kurtz does an override for the lt250. Cant remember if he could.do them for yh pre 87. But do know they were offered in a 1-3 and a 1-4.

What type of drag racing are you planning on doing with it? Sand? Dirt? Asphalt?

what he said, different set ups but they main focus is to make your vehicle more powerful and lighter. rearrange  F=ma to get a=F/m. make F bigger (more power) and make m smaller (less mass)=more acceleration! with racing, if you are serious about wining, make sure to keep you wallet or credit card handy too.
