Most of them are loose anyways never was a tight unit. But their are 3 ball bearings in the back of it. Plastic clips are not expensive.I like the function of mine with my pipe. The screw on the side were you adjust the spring I had to drill the screws carefully and use a easy out. Then I replaced them 6mm  bolt with a 1.0 thread. But when you get them out take to to your local store and check the bolt and thread.
