1992 LT250 Complete Rebuild , and Questions
« on: March 10, 2014, 05:48:17 pm »
Hello Gents ,

I'm in the process of rebuilding my lt motor (that was already rebuild not too long ago by the previous owner, he did a crap job) i'm rebuilding it cuz the crank seal wasnt installed right and feel off , and leaned out the engine and I had a couple questions ,

1- In On the Clutch cover side there's a stopper for shifter , is it ok to leave it like it is (See first Picture) ps:Im changing the screws lol like i said Crap job

2-what bearing do you guys suggest to change (im changing the Crank, balancer so far)

3-finally, in the bottom of the Crank Case , theres a mark from something rubbing any ideas ? (check the crank ,no mark's on it

on Another note I got it Paint with black splaters in the blue , seamed accurate for 1992 lol

My cases had that same rub mark, I'm more then certain that it came from the crank bearings or the crank bearing inserts going bad and allowing the crank to rub against the lower side of the cases. or something could of gotten lose and got caught between the case and crank.

Mine was from a combination of piston/thrust washer/cylinder explosion. Hence the 88 jug on 87 bottom end lol

use the suzuki oem bearing

sound like thrust washer failure, the crank is harder than the thrust washer then maby the crankshaft is from another case .... no problem with that

Ill be ordering oem bearings just not sure the best place to get them , im from canada and the suzuki dealer is changing me a crazy price for the bearings ( special order charge of 3.50 on each bearing)

Ill be getting a crank ,

also there was no thrust washers on the piston lol , maybe they blew and they changed the crank but never put new washers ?

Try contacting yuhuza32 /Jason he's a member here and in his signature he has discount code for Honda east Toledo where he works. Helped me out when I replaced my entire water pump assembly. I used to hit up service Honda since they offered way better prices on parts over my local dealer.
