Motoman, IMHO if you have good cases with no known problems (other than second gear), you would probably be money ahead in the end if you just repair your existing engine.  Spend the money to replace worn and damaged parts, get the gears back cut and walk away with a solid bottom end.  If you just buy another one, it is a crap shoot, you might be having the same problems as soon as you fire it up.
