ZillaJoe--I just got my airbox delete bracket and some other things from Shawn (SBLT500)  It looks like a nice quality piece.  If you go with the uni dual layer they make a 6 Inch long and an 8" long  (uni part number UP-6400st and up-8400st)  I just ordered a AEM filter from Summit Racing part number (21-2059BF) that is a 9" long unit. Aem also makes an outer pre-filter to fit the 9" filter--its part number is AEM #1-4001.   I didnt check into the K&N filter numbers but I am sure they make a bunch.

Here's pics of sblt500r Shawn's airbox adapter in the stock airbox with the trx250r k&n ha-4250 filter.

You might fit a bigger filter in there. But I don't know which one.

Take a pic of what you've done & someone else might be able to steer you in the right direction.

Anyone have pictures of an aluminum or steel airbox replacement? Like an airbox made out of aluminum or steel is what I mean not just an airbox delete bracket. Also why is every post I read from sublunacy so argumentative and combative? Do you really need to be so condescending and wrong most of the time to make yourself feel good or something?

Here is a picture of a 250 airbox sblt500 used to do and hopefully will do again if time permits him.  It in my opinion is the best looking airbox for these machines.

Yeah you should have kept it for me to show up years later lol.  I am hoping he makes more.  My guess is we would need enough people committed to buy so it would make it worth his time.

Anyone have an aluminum airbox on a 500? I have a huge piece of diamond plate aluminum I'd love to get cut into a custom airbox.

Could always buy one of these from me. Box is big enough for a 9" k&n or a smaller 6-7" uni and a battery. It gets an outerwears water repellant lid. And doesn't have to be out of diamond plate can do regular aluminum as well. It also gets a drain hole with plug in the bottom.

I'd buy 2 of those today. 1 for an 88' 250R, and 1 for an 86' 250R. I'll pay upfront before you manufacture them. Somebody get ahold of this guy! lol Who else would ponie up for 1?  Is there anybody else who could make these?
