This is why the LT500R is the best dune bike ever!! You couldn't loaf a high strung banshee through the dunes like this. A 250 would be ok but its working pretty hard to pull the paddles. The 500 is perfect.  #1>

I have seen tons of video's of you guys play riding through Glamis. Most of you really just keep the big 500 spinning at lower rev's using the massive torque to pull you through the dunes. The power is there when you need to climb the dunes. You don't really have to beat the snot of it to cruise!! It's barely working hard.

Question:
- How far do you typically venture out? Does the lead rider use a GPS? Silver Lake Sand Dunes is only 500 acres so its hard to get lost :D

This is a bucket list of mine to make it out to CA to ride the dunes there and do exactly what is on this video - except with alot more wheelies.  P*
Ain't ever seen it......but I have heard it.

Don't really need gps.  Go to a high dune, look around.  There are land marks to use to find your way

If I remember correctly the Imperial Sand dunes is about 10 miles wide by 40 miles long.

Lumpia is a Filipino egg roll. Each island in the Philippeans has their own signature style of lumpia. The ones I prepared are similar to the ones from the island of Cebu.

Nice vid Bill... Your vids are getting better and better.

That vid doesn't show how fugging fast we were going. I mean we were shredding those dunes real fast. Bowl after bowl, ridge after ridge, slamming transitions, blasting thru witches eyes, non stop fun. The fastest ride I've ever been on in the many years I've been going to Glamis riding those dunes. And then the endurance,,, to go that fast, non stop, from China Wall to Olds... damn, that was fun.
I'm in a turbo SxS, and it was pushing the envelope for me. My hands were actually throbbing from doing 500 hundred right hand turns non stop... lmao. Bill was holding/stretching his arms out, when he got a chance.

This was no ride for the inexperienced or rookie duners... no way. I've followed Bfuss for years now and never saw him slam into his bars in the ruff junk transitions keeping up to Bret. Don't get me wrong, he didn't come close to crashing, just was getting tossed around at the speeds we were going. Billy R was flying on his 250, that thing was singing. I could here it over the 500's winding up to the moon. Man Billy rides that thing good. And
Bret, our fearless leader, picks one of the best lines I've ever followed, but, I think he has a death wish...lmao

Well, with all the new fresh JH & Q motors on all the above bikes, and this new found warp speed we seem to duning at, has kicked it up at least a few notches. Maybe its just this tight group of 4 that allows for the fast fast pace, or maybe not. Would be fun to get 10 of us in train going that fast...
It will be fun to see if other riders can keep up to this new pace, and hang with this group. The timid and slow, well... don't even bother trying.

Good video Bill.  Yes, I agree with AllCool about the group size.   Smaller groups can get thru the dunes quickly.  2, 3, or 4 can book thru the dunes if the riders are good riders, and trust each other.  Rarely, we have a group around 8 that can do the same thing.

I'm out & about with alittle less pain everyday. The ER Doc told me it was 2 in my right lower rear quadrant & 1 in my right upper front quadrant. Then he said there is nothing that can be done to speed the healing process. I just been trying not to over exert myself & take it easy. I took Bill's advise & bought a back brace / kidney belt. I wish I got one of those sooner.

Now i'm just waiting on the 250 to get done so I can bring both bikes to the end of year ride.
