I read that the heat shield wasn't very functional...it worked, but didn't do a great job.
Then I read in a different thread that it works great.
So what gives, good or bad?
Worth the money or not?

A couple of them were installed and rotatated too high, mine works good but could be longer.  A carbon fiber shield would be nice. Two little screws and molded. Better. Don't think of would be to hard.

The heat shield on mine works great, pipe can be red hot and you can touch the heat shield by hand. I dont even feel the heat off the pipe on my leg. Glad i bought it. The pipe does get really hot.

I have one of the ones with the misplaced heat sheild (half of it is under my tank) But thats not really the problem i'm having. My heat shield really only covers the rear half of the exposed portion of the cone. If I'm ripping through a turn trying my best not to fly off the seat (I do good most of the time  ;)), I'm usually forward on the seat and hugging the tank with my inside leg. Which usually puts my snowboard pants (ice racing) right into the pipe just before the heat shield.  my .02

OK, so the heat shield works, it was just the placement of it on some of the pipes.
That clears a lot of confusion up.

Love that seat cover!... looks like Brians (800screws) old one... I was kicking myself in the azz for not buying that seat... don't see many Graves seat covers for the LT's floating around out there... nice ride!
