I have one of the ones with the misplaced heat sheild (half of it is under my tank) But thats not really the problem i'm having. My heat shield really only covers the rear half of the exposed portion of the cone. If I'm ripping through a turn trying my best not to fly off the seat (I do good most of the time  ), I'm usually forward on the seat and hugging the tank with my inside leg. Which usually puts my snowboard pants (ice racing) right into the pipe just before the heat shield.  my .02
