Coolant can seep up the holes in the head. The copper washers are suppose to seal this but sometimes they leak.

after I had my cool head o ringed when I torqued my acorn nuts down the studs popped the top of the acorn nuts a little.
Make sure your torque wrench is set to 20 ft pounds standard and not metric. There was a buddy of mine had that same problem. He kept blowing his head gasket. Turns out he was actually torquing them to like 3 ft lbs lolWorst comes to worst get a new torque wrench
