Skeans totally depends on how ure no link swinger is made. If the lower shock mount goes underneath or above the swinger back in the day me and lt ron both had metaltech make us swingers and they made the shock mounts diffrent on mine than his and his shock was 2" Shorter the the way to do it is put on your swinger put ure bike on a jack and see where you want your ride height and measure eye to eye.

Thank you, it'll be a metal tech with a JJ&A Raptor axle or banshee. Just looking for a good set for dunning out here on the Oregon coast and drop some weight and the best hook up, well not getting beat the heck on the whoops out here.

Can't have the best of all worlds
No link is light and hooks up well but not so good in the whoops but that can depend on how deep they are as well
For a dune atv that will drag race I run a link better in the whoops, good hook up, better for duning but not as light.
The 2/3 Line are my opinion based on riding link and no link setups in the same area back to back

My set-up is a +3 metal tech swinger with a jj@a banshee axle. I had a linked swinger with a shaw and it felt like poop I always figured because the shaw was so short? (13 1/2 compared to 15 1/2) plus the link set-up puts alot more leverage on the shock with a + sized swinger. This no link set-up is nice can be set real nice feeling but then again I dont ride dunes either I think that the angle of the shock makes a diffrence.

1) if you're going to go this way and measure your own, make sure you account for sag, usually 1" is recommended.

2) Have have ran shaws in the dunes and they where ok, I would say 1 dimensional, set it for one activity but they would not quite work 100% in another aspect. (yes I had coil-overs)

If you're dunning most of the time rebuilt OEM, Elka are the lower budget way to go.  If you're spending $$$ Axis, PEP (but I'm not even sure those are worth the $$), Fox float might be better???

If you're dragging most of the time Shaw is the way to go.
