That seems the way to go instead of trying to use baling twine and wire to hold the front on, or trying to make some rinky dink connector that is going to cracks the first chance it gets. You can almost picture a big tumor mass of weld over a connecting piece with a gusset, adding another gusset and it's about as ugly as it gets.
