Hey guys, just joined up and am a proud new owner of a bouncing 88 Lt250r. So, I'm curious about lowering the rear suspension. I'm aware of CRJ and Durablue offering front lowering links, but nothing for the rear. I only want to lower the rear by an inch or two, keep the front of the bike higher than the rear and I don't want to run teeny tiny tires, I enjoy the trails not track.
Why do you want the rear lower??
Durable made a adjustable strut for the rear. Check eBay.
Sorry I took too long to reply back. Well, I originally wanted to lower the front, so I can flip the wheels back to where they are supposed to be. That way, my brake calipers would not be exposed but I didn't want to go with that plan if I couldn't find, let's say a rear lowering linkage. A strut is great for drag racing or flat track, but I'm a trails guy. I realize lowering the bike would get rid of some ground clearance, but I figured there's plenty of clearance and I could run taller tires. It seems like my last quad, which was a KTM 450XC sat lower with only 45.5 inches of width and it was great in the woods. Wished I had kept that bike. Anyways, I'll either save up for some a-arms or stick with what I have and dial in the suspension.
You don't remove the shock , just the factory strut and replace it with the adjustable one.
Oh, well I'll have to check that out then
Haven't saw one made specifically for the lt250r
Welcome! Check with Rocky Mountain ATV. That is the last place I've seen them for sale.
Thanks and I'll check that out
Well, no luck. I'm glad I didn't get a Tecate 4, but I'm kind of surprised there isn't a whole lot of aftermarket support for even the Zuk. I always see a bunch of them for sale on Craigslist, so there has to be a bunch of them out there. I know the TRX250r still has alot of aftermarket support, but people ask too much for them. Don't get me started on trying to find a-arms, seems like most of the companies out there could care less. For some strange reason, Avenger ceased production of suspension parts. Oh well, I've ranted on far enough
