EXHAUST MANIFOLD GASKET RINGS - Where from?
« on: January 29, 2014, 03:41:23 am »
I'm running a V1 q pipe with the alloy flange

Jug has been ported to match the ID of the flange

Looking for a gasket ring to fit it

These are the dimensions I took with my calipers the other night that would fit snug

57.85mm od x 47mm id  x 4.5mm thick

The engine didn't come with one fitted and I assumed that because I've ported the exhaust port out to 47mm od to suit the flange the oem gasket would be less than that

I've ordered one anyway, so ill have a look and see how I get on

machine an aluminum one and use a oring. that gasket is worthless, all flanges should have a lip machined to use a oring in there and eliminate the gasket. All it does is cause turbulence and collect carbon.

Maybe another item for the store??? Wonder what temp that area gets to, a o ring might melt past 450 deg.

Look at the viton specs, that might work

HPR does not require a gasket but the Q pipes do.
