yes, that turned out to be the problem. Bought a carrier rebuild kit from Nac racing for lonestar style carrier and its been fine ever since.
91 Lt250r Bartlett port and head mod v force 2 Hinson Clutch Basket Cool Head Scp Pipe and silencer ,KN air filter ,EBC clutch, Ohlins  Triple rate Shocks Redone by PEP Shocks,Stock Rear Shock Redone By Pep Shock,  DG nerf Bars , Lonestar axle 2+2,Lonestar Swingarm ,Douglas Red Label rims.

old carrier are **** to adjust even on each side and proprely.  if i top the suspension my chain toutch my chain slider on swing arm that is changing my chain slack . i have 1 teeth smaller  engine sprocket. i am happy you found your problem.

Thanks! i spent a lot of money replacing thing till i got it. I went away from the stock swingarm of the lt250r, I switched over to Lone star swing arm with  Lone Star carrier.I love it. I can run 11 tooth sprocket or 12 tooth or  13  tooth  all with the same chain.Carrier has a lot of spin which converts into a lot of adjustment. Makes it real handy for what ever style riding im doing at the time.
