My 86' LT250R rebuild.
« on: May 04, 2013, 02:56:35 pm »
Photo 1 is the swing arm I need welded and gussetted. But it may not matter cause the bearing carrier is shot and the swing arm bolt is frozen! Need a new throttle cable for my new thumb throttle.

That's my shot broken bearing carrier. If you look closely, you'll see the lip on the end that the caliper mount retaining clip is broken off. My mount got bent, I ordered a used 1 of ebay but it was very slightly bent. Still it had the retaining clip with it which I didn't have on mine.

I own three cars and will be selling one to get money for this project. Lol it takes a lot of it lol, but I already got a lot of this small parts ordered. Now comes the expensive parts. Can anybody see the picture that shows the side of the engine with the front sprocket? I'm trying to figure out if part of my case is broken off. I can't locate the holes for me to screw a sprocket cover on.

I'd don't have a pic of an 86 motor but in your pic, it looks like you have jb weld where the boss should be.

Just discovered my swing arm is **** right up by the front sprocket. Where the swing arm bolt goes through. Now I have two cracks to weld up and it needs gussetted? Ah man, I might as well just buy a new swinger for sure. It's no wonder this thing ran like crap, my brother and dad did no maintenance on it! Just checked front wheel bearings and they are shot. I got new ones now to put in. I was wondering how to do that. I installed new front brake pads and have a new rear caliper and new pads for it, but now I don't know if I can use them on the lone star swinger. I'm going to check on that right now.

Why are you stuck on a lonestar swinger? They are way overpriced and really heavy. Patience, the proformance 250 swingers and a-arms will be done soon.

I discovered my swing arm is split where the swing arm bolt goes through. I'm pretty sure I can't use it, would this swing arm be of any use to you guys who are designing and building yours?
