Aftermarket Hardware Kits
« on: December 31, 2014, 09:01:22 am »
I read a lot of posts saying the stainless steel hardware kits were garbage and never come out intact from where they are inserted, but they are the only widely available kits that I see. What is a good hardware kit for the 250r's and where can you get them from?  <1>

Forget stainless. It will destroy aluminium threads. You can spend the
money for oem, do a little research and buy the hardware you need
at a hardware store or fastener retailer, or buy a donar quad for the
hardware you need. I've always preferred buying junk quads.
Any parts you don't need can be sold to recoup money spent.

Yea its looking like the best option to order oem, theres plenty of that online. I would prefer to buy a junk quad for the same reasons but man, I looked everywhere within a few hours of me in the US and Canada on craigslist and Kijiji and the major forums for sale sections that would deal with 250r's for any potential deals and its a futile effort. Plenty of 85/86 machines but they are useless to me.

What do you need. I have some extra nuts and bolts. I may be able to help you out.
But there is a set on eBay that are not stainless  and they are just like oem bolts.

250 piece spec bolt kit on eBay is 50$ I think. That's the kit to buy.

Ok I was wondering if the spec bolt kits were the ones people were saying to stay away from but it doesn't say anything about stainless steel on them. I will be getting me one  +k2

I'm looking at the general 150pc kit, has lug nuts, bolts for exhaust and some plastic and what not, thats exactly what I need. I'd like to just replace as much rusty stuff as possible too.
