92 lt250r pipes (lrd, or fmf)
« on: November 16, 2014, 08:25:32 am »
Ok most of you who have been helping me out on my motor rebuild I thank you so much so heres a exhaust question when I bought the bike it had the lrd pipe and silencer on it and it rode good but had a leak where the two parts of the pipe come together as it looks adjustable with a screw on top and one under. So what pipe system should I put back on the lrd system or the fmf system, or should I buy a new setup. Also if the lrd is the best is there someway to fix the leak and what would I use. Again thank you all so much for all the help. I really can't wait to get this badboy done to ride next spring and summer, maybe even have to get together with some on the site and go to some good riding spots. anyway heres pics of both pipe setups.

That's a loaded question. It depends on the porting of the cylinder,  carb etc,.  I had both pipes a long time ago and the FMF pulled better with the setup I had at the time.
What type of riding are you going to do?  Thats probably the biggest determinate of pipe selection.

I wrote a big write up in general forum with what I was looking to do and what kind of riding I was going to be doing, so please check it out and then let me know what you think along with some other questions I have posted on here, what piston/bore to go with, porting or not, head work, or cool head or no work at all. I have all winter to do this project so first thing will be top end bore/piston this month, then next month will be bottom end if anyone thinks I need it, so the next 2 months I will be putting my money getting the whole motor up to par, then after that it will be all about the chassis, suspension ect. So please any help on setting up my motor for what I need, and whom can do my motor work would be great.
