Sounds like the springs on the backside of your clutch basket are tired, old, loose..

Would that be the case? I'm not sure exactly how long ago, but probably about 15-18 years ago is when this bike came down from michigan with a nuked clutch basket. My uncles replaced it then bought the bike. it wasnt rode long before being shoved up in the woods for 13 years. You think it would be the springs?
