quick question about removing clutch cover
« on: May 03, 2013, 10:25:00 am »
New to the LT250's and have a question.  Clutch doesn't disengage so I'm gonna pull the cover and check things out.  The manual I have says to remove the water pump cover and I was wandering if that was really necessary?
Let the good times roll.....

you must remove the oil, the  clutch cable or arm  and kick starter only.

Lean the quad on its side then you don't have to dump the gearbox oil... I'm lazy

i think you need to drain radiator fluid too
life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sidays totally worn out shouting "HOLY SH*T...WHAT A RIDE!"

Yea drain the oil and radiator fuild clutch cable and kick start. The reason the manual say remove the water pump cover is when your putting it back together you have to line the water pump shaft to the gear .So when you line it up by eye you grab the impellar and wiggle it back and fourth to get it to line up in the gear .Makes it alot easier to do. Un less you line it perfect, but if its not in  right  dont force  the clutch cover back on our you will have more problems.
