So I've been looking at info on carbs but it was over a broad spectrum of different bikes. the quad vent prevents build up in the whoops
apparently and the air striker provides decent mid power and the air striker quad vent is for
**** mx racing with a combination of both qualities.
Its hard to find rock solid info, even more so on the LT250R.
is the air striker quad vent the "Best" of the three like it claims?
You did not say what size PWK your were going to be running?
The Air Striker quad vents it (04 vents) allows excess air thats built up to escape through the vent tubes and prevents fuel slosh and is more designed for the ultracross mx crowd who jump and ride over erratic terrains.
Air Striker models have finned airfoil set of wings which direct air to the Main Nozzle for improved signal and throttle response.
Standard PWK Series Carburetors are available in 28, 33, 35, 39 an 41mm sizes. PWK Quad Vent Carburetors come in 36mm, and PWK Air Striker/Quad Vent Carbs in 35 and 38mm sizes.
well im debateing getting it port at the moment.so im still trying to find a winning carb for my combination.
if i dont get the top end ported ill be running stock bore,q-pipe,and vforce reeds, and squish will be fixed.
im open to discussion about porting options, main focus is reliability,i dont know
**** on this subject lol
Well for reliability, IMO I would recommend a builder that will not remove or thin the intake bridge too much (others have the bridge removed for a few years and still on the same piston). My intake bridge broke when I overheated my piston the last trip out (wrong fuel burn down... my fault). Make sure the builder/porter is familiar with the LT500, so they don't screw up the porting by making it too big and it hurts performance.
Good luck getting everything all setup.
ohh man im still playing with the little 250's

will a 38 or 39mm pwk work good with a piped and reeded 250 motor? or just get the 36mm for this setup??
If you run the 38 or 39 mm carburetors, you will also have to use a zilla intake manifold. That will cause your carburetor to be kicked off at an angle like on the 500's. Then you will have to run a custom airfilter setup because your stock airbox wil not line up anymore.
But will this setup work good on a motor that's just piped and reeded??
I run a 38mm Mikuni in my 87 250 intake boot.Heated it slightly with a heat gun and slide it in reasonably easy. Not sure if a 39mm would fit.
IS ANYONE RUNNING A 38MM WITH AN UNPORTED MOTOR!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?
Yeah I have the 38 flat slide on my 86 250
thanks, that settles it im now looking for a 38mm =D
