I'd be scared of it getting broken off, or possible the threads ripped out of the cases.

I guess it depends what king of riding you do but that setup is just begging to get broken off.Like I said may work but no way I,d run it.

I bet you'd be ok if you cut off the nipple for the hose or if you run a skid plate.

i'm running a skid plate. i shouldn't have any clearance issues. i'm going to put my own together. The company that makes the couplers; aeroquip is right down the road from me. so i'm going to see what they have to work with.

I looked at that gear and im impressed.> my thoughts are that 14 by 1.25 sounds to fine for an aluminum block. I would have thought the 14 by 1.5 would have been correct. Anyway you should pick up a plastic universal thread/bolt hole gauge somewhere with the hole sizes in it. I like it 10 times more than the metal jackknife type thread gauges, I rarely use those.

Anyway nice find there> can you tell us how it fits? looks like it should clear the skid plate.

k well looking at the measurements on the sit,it jumps from 14mmm to 20 mm. which means if i pulled  my stock 14mm threads out i either tap to 20mm,or threadsert some 14mm threads back in there.
my question is how many of you have seen threadserts leak when used to repaired drain plugs?

or should i just tap to another size drain plug and be done with it?

so i stumbled into a local autoparts store curious what i could do for my stripped out bolt hole, instead of the standard "spring" type heli coil the guy had this awesome kit for doing spark plugs.its more of a threaded sleeve.it comes with a tap thats specially designed to fit "original" threads and it  automatically bores and cuts in new threads for the insert.best news is the insert fits original drain plug.it may be a couple weeks before i get this kit and do it but ill be sure to post pics!

Looks like you need both pieces male and female $65 bucks for oil change?
[/quote]

but mitch! its anodized! and shiny! and im told it adds 55.8hp and the main reason is cuz racebike!

i think its a great idea,a bit over priced, but guaranteed not to strip anymore threads. and its just convenient.

Hey   i used the same kit your talking about. It has worked good for me.The only down fall was they said to use grease on the end of the cutter,Your shifting drum is right their and all the metal shaving got stuck to my shifting drum so i had to take apart the motor and clean it,but i havent had any problem since then. Also use the small coil .you have 2 little hole in your side case that drain the oil from the tranny and clutch sides.2 long and they willl not drian .
