« on: June 06, 2014, 12:45:20 pm »
I am having my lt250r resleeved and was wondering, what gas to oil ratio to run. (72mm bore )(+3mm oversized carburetor). And what would you recommend for the break in period

Premium at the minimum mixed with a quality premix at 32:1

4 oz of oil per gallon of gas

The safest is to start it, run it for 5 minutes let it cool, do it again for 10 minutes let it cool, then 20, 30... Then start riding it easy at first, doing the same routine time wise. Then after all that then it's time to hammer. There are other ways of breaking in motors but this is the safest.

Run the fuel at the same ratio all the time. Store your fuel in metal cans as plastic jugs are porous and bleed off the explosive stuff in the fuel, which isn't good for your new top end.

OK thank you very much.   Just new to the 2 stroke's and wanted to make sure

Any specific brand of 2 stroke oil.  And does the octane of the gas matter for the ratio I wanted to run only 93 octane or higher.

A lot of people swear by maxima 927, it smells great and castor bean oil gas been tested to provide abit more protection. Amsoil makes one I hear about also. Knowing that I run golden spectro as I've used since switching from Blendzall. Try an use the best fuel to prevent detonation which kills top ends.
