No there no more efficient really than a OEM head. The difference is there cut a little better off the shelf at stock bore, so you could see a temp drop in the rite condition. Don't restrict anything in the hose. If you want to do something plug the head to mimic the OEM gasket if you running orings. Its possible to get a hot spot on the head but I've done a lot and never seen an issue.
