« on: May 14, 2013, 09:59:17 pm »
I have a 86 250r I removed the clutch cover and when I went to put it back on I don't remember how the clutch rack lines up should it be pushed in or out the teeth on the rack should face the swing arm I know that also the rack shaft moves around back and fourth and side to side is it supposed to be like that any help would greatly be appreciated

The teeth on that short shaft should contact the teeth on the shaft that pokes through the clutch cover.  I think the teeth will face towards the rear of the ATV.  The shaft moving around is normal.

Thanks I thought when I took the case off something fell out that holds the rack that's why it was moving around all over the place when I put the cover back on and have the teeth lined up should I push the rack shaft in or pull it all the way out then put the cover back on or it doesn't matter

On the Zilla the rack is like vertical, and then the water pump shaft needs alignment also before the cover goes back on

Pull it all the way out, and as your putting the cover on roll the clutch arm shaft to help pull it snug, make sure the water pump drive is lined up to.
