Breaking My Case Saver
« on: November 19, 2018, 08:54:43 am »
I have a super clean 92 Lt250r. There is almost nothing wrong with it except a coolant leak and my case saver.
#1. I was riding in the woods one day when a pretty big branch got caught in my chain and somehow popped it. This broke the holes where the case saver screws into off (the threads stick out from the case). Is there a fix for this? It bothers me so much and if it happens again the consequences are going to be a lot worse.
#2. I just redid the bottom and top end. Runs awesome. I noticed a small coolant leak out of the tiny hole under the case right next to the shifter. Now it seems like my head gasket is seeping coolant out of it. (these may be totally unrelated). I ordered new and better top end gaskets than the wesico ones. Any ideas on this? Especially the little hole near the shifter.
Thanks.

As far as the broken mounting bosses for your case saver, it can be re-welded and machined to like new condition.

For coolant coming from the weep hole, you will need a new water pump seal kit.
