Mitch I don't see you wanting a revised sheet of the DCS pipe against the others on the same day, same bike, same dyno.
if Mitch doesn't I'd like to see it, I'm running a DCS 4 an I'd like to see how it compares
Kenny, Kenny...It's obvious to all that you only know what Q tells you you know,. about LT500's...(hope I didn't loose you there..) Your a good friend to him,..and as you have just pointed out, he does need someone. Stay calm...check the Dyno section morning and night, ..soon.. you will know exactly what the seat of your pants is feeling.

Thats B.S. Ken I know Q has been telling everyone about that dyno run at Shearers, Its in his best interest to do so.
That 88 LT500 dyno run ended up having a
**** piston that I found after I tore it down afterwards, the dyno had the same power curve as the other dynos of the DCS-4 pipes, At that time my 88 only made 44 hp and 36 ft lbs torque
with a **** piston which is about what a FMF would put out, And to be honest I'm pretty damn impressed that it made those numbers with 2 fractures across the top of the piston.
No Smoke no Mirrors just the truthWith That:
My 88 engine is redone and going through dyno jetting / graphing power bands this month to document the 88 graph vs the 87 graph.
And thanks again Jayson for the quick delivery on the piston.
Got the go ahead for a new exhaust today. Money isn't really an issue with this purchase so I'm torn between a HPR#19 or a Q V2.0. I like the q look but I like all the dyno numbers Jerry Hall has for his pipe but wish it came in a matte finish or the glossy finish the q pipe has. If it were you which would you choose? Also any suggestions on what else I should do? I want my Zilla to be a total beast but still be reliable.
Buy the HPR #19 pipe & get it chrome plated nice & shiney. You will have the best of both worlds
Mitch, I believe you that the 44hp was probably a fluke caused by some sort of damage, but you took another bike(big reed) to another dyno to get some better numbers. The whole point of a dyno is to use the same measuring stick (again correct me) to compare baselines against performance improvements. Without using the same consistent testing tool the results are totally skewed. Also we all know the DCS-4 came from a variant of the 1.1 & got copied, no way that thing was a "Clean sheet" design.
If the DCS-4 was a copy of the V-1.1 then it would run VERY close to the V-2 power band design, so I would be selling his now $900 pipe for $500, this would also explains why RK would not want anyone to post any dyno runs of the V-2 pipe for comparison.
I really dont understand why Kennerz would bring this up when RK (DrQ) is out of pipes at this time and looking for deposits at this time.
Well I wasn't expecting this thread to turn into another pipe dyno argument thread. I know what number are out there and I know the v2 Q pipe doesn't have any dyno numbers to back up its price tag. Also I'm ready to purchase a pipe but that doesn't mean I need to rush it cause IMO its the most important upgrade to my Zilla ill make and I've always been told good things come to those that wait. I really like the HPR pipe for wht Jerry provides as reasoning for the price tag I just wish it came plated or painted I'm not a huge fan of the raw look. And when I said price isn't an issue I didn't mean I wanted to spend $1000+ on the pipe plus another $200-$400 to get it look how I want. I have already called Jerry and spoke with him for 45 mins about a range of questions I had. I have also emailed Q and he informed me all of his v2 pipes were purchased already and that the next run would be $100 more per pipe making them roughly $50 less than Halls pipe.
$920, Q's on crack. That DCS is looking better every day now
Top of the line...proven. HPR #20
19 + chrome....could change how it runs?..= 20. That's my #, not Halls.
All I can say wow with reading this and Mitch are you going to have more DCS pipes done?
I would like to see all 4 done but still it comes down to 4 pipes, the dyno numbers and cost of all 4. Not one pipe is the best for everyone do to there riding or there modded motor. Just my

here but I say 5hp is not worth 350 to 400 more dollars for a pipe. But it looks like its just coming down to who makes more power
Is that the pipe you were telling me about? What does it do on the alky?

The 2 pipes that I am selling now are to the masses prices with the 2 pipes that I have sold, your only as good as your customer's feedback and thats what I am waiting for, unlike the V-1 I rather make sure if glitches show up the jig get fixed ASAP.
DCS-4 pipe was designed and costed for the Play Duner / Trail Riders out there.
HPR and Rk and Shearers are the hill shooter pipe guys as far as I am concerned.
i was referring to dales pipe
Those are Chrome plated HPR #19 pipes. Threw the #20 in there for fun... They are my 2 main dune bikes , running gas, very good gas.. a tank of methanol doesn't get you very far in the dunes.
JH has a Alky Pipe version of the 19 in the testing phase..
So Buckeye, decide on a pipe yet, lol.
If you go with either pipe i'm fairly sure you will be satisfied.
I haven't ordered anything yet my bike is at a mechanic family members this week and next to get a new clutch chain and sprockets put on and cleaned up an gone through. Like I said in not in a rush my dad is my financial backer on this project because he's living expenses free and has money to blow. So he wants this Zilla to be unbeatable at the drag strips. I'm gonna contact Jerry after my bike gets done at being gone through by my cousin and talk with Jerry about motor work modifications and a pipe and costs of everything. The biggest scare for me is the cost to ship my motor and carb from Cincinnati to Arizona! Haha
Shipping is not as bad as you think.
