Got the go ahead for a new exhaust today. Money isn't really an issue with this purchase so I'm torn between a HPR#19 or a Q V2.0. I like the q look but I like all the dyno numbers Jerry Hall has for his pipe but wish it came in a matte finish or the glossy finish the q pipe has. If it were you which would you choose? Also any suggestions on what else I should do? I want my Zilla to be a total beast but still be reliable.
I am not sure Q has any more 2.0 pipes at the moment. Im sure he will make more as he sold what he made. I feel the Q and halls are the best pipes out there. If money not an issue and you want something now get a halls and have it finished how you want. I got one of the last 2.0 pipes from his first batch. I chose it on cost vs performance perception. It was 200 less than halls and saved me another 200 in the bling factor i wanted.
I went off the assumption that Q being a zilla nut would not develop a new pipe if it were not improved. Everyone loved the Q 1.1 at they love the Halls. The 2.0 is suppose to have more power down lower--more like the halls vs a higher strung pipe. I realize no dyno numbers. I went off what others who are running them have said and the cost.
I have a shiny chrome CT pipe and new silencer I will sell you. I have tried a bills, and a Paul Turner pipe and I like the CT much better than both those. Im betting I will like the Q even more.
Too bad my restoration is a winter project so I cant test my Q pipe until spring. Its -4 degrees here so riding does not sound fun right now.


Jerry Hall did work on my motor and it runs real hard. I am positive the HPR #19 is a badass pipe. I couldn't get past not having a big shiny Q pipe however. I love it compared to the original V1 that I had.
Q's newest video says he is going to make another run of pipes.
Hpr al day I'd leave it raw with high temp clear coat I think that looks mean plus I believe the hpr has more low and mid than the dr.q I think top end is the same can't remember if I had the cash hpr.
Oh yes my bad you are right hpr is supposed to have a little bit more all around power than the qv.2 the qv.2 traded a little bit off the top to make a little bit more grunt in the low to mid I. So ive heard and compared I do not own one. hpr vs q they had close to the same displacement throughout the power band just the hpr was putting out a little more hp I may be wrong it has been a while since I seen the shoot out.
Now I'm confused the q v1 I was more of a top end pipe and you saying the q v2 has a better low mid and top?
Ill say it again and again it would be nice to see a Graph on the V-2 power band to compare to the V-1 power band.

Not at all Dez, Someone is asking $800 for a custom pipe and the dialog you hear about it is from the seat of the pants description on the power band, any pipe upgrade from a Bills, FMF, or CT to either Aaen, Q, HPR, DCS will feel like you strapped on a rocket vs those pipes, it's that each pipe has a its own power band and to understand it you need to see the Graphs, Myself had posted the V-1 and the V-1.1 Graphs and many have posted the HPR 19 Graphs, and not to get into the HP# Dyno BS, but each pipe has its own power curve from starting RMP to ending RPM, different ported cylinders will reflect different HP/Torque numbers but you would get the idea on the power band graphs.
I am not saying the V-2 is not a good pipe at any means, but a side by side comparison would nice.
As I said before I will pay for a dyno run for anyones V-2 dyno here in Riverside, Either your quad or mine I dont care, heck i'll even throw in lunch and some gas money, just PM me and let me know what dates are available to do this.

AND.. FYI I used a Good quality plater very close to JH (a customer himself).
Nickel plate- $150.00.
Triple Chrome (I went with) $400.00. That was for every piece including silencer housing. Not the flange.

No Smoke or Mirrors Kennerz, Can use your quad or mine it dosent matter, place Dasa's "Mustang Dyno" (due to cost and being unbiased testing) Again we can have only the Graphs done and leave off the HP# if RK is concerned, just let me know what "WEEK DAY" date is good for you so I can set this up.

Well kenny...rest assured,.. and pass this on to your master... I have assumed a Leadership Role in seeing that a fair and true testing will be conducted of the pipe. He should have done it before offering it for sale, especially after the ***kicking he got last time. Also,... I do feel bad for You, that after all the discussions about dyno testing you still seem to not understand how it works. When the results are posted I suggest you abstain from reading them and just go ride your bike and "Marvel" at how it continues to run at all speeds.
