Good evening,i have a 1990 lt500rl,i had no idea these forums existed for just the 500,that's awesome.I am new on the site.I have a neighbor that shouldn't be driving anymore,she backed in to my 500,pushed it in between her rear bumper and a tree that separates our driveways, we have a duplex style situation.My question is,I can not find a 90 frame used,but I did find an 88 frame used.Are they the same?When I looked up the frame on Suzukis site,it shows a part number for th H model,but shows the same part number for models J,K and L.My only other solution is to be patient for a 90 frame to come by or move it over to an 88.Any help would be appreciated,or anyone who may have a 90 frame available?I am so disgusted with my neighbor,but I am trying to keep in mind she is elderly,and she didn't do it on purpose.Thanks alot JJ.
An '88 frame should work just fine for you.
Ty Rensch26.I noticed colors were the main changes I guess.I just found it ironic the last 3 years used the same frame?The 88 frame has a title,that's positive,I just have this voice in my head saying "it's not a 90.
How do you know it's an 88 frame? If it's a craigslist ad, i wouldnt trust it. An 87 frame has many differences and the major one being you wont be able to run your 90 a-arms on it. 88-90 will all interchange.
I've dealt with craigslist and ebay guys selling the wrong year stuff a lot.
if the frame has a VIN, check the 10th letter.
H=87
J=88
K=89
L=90
And welcome to the site.
There's a lot of great info here just not as active as it once was.
Hopefully the facebook craze will end soon.
Thank you Q2W,the replacement framing question it's coming from Inland ATV I believe out of California they said the VIN on that particular frame is the letter j,and thank you for the warm welcome. She also stated it comes with a title.JJ
I'd confirm that they are talking about the 10th letter in the vin.
The first letter on ALL frames is J.
Because sometimes I'm a cheap sob, I have to ask "Is your 90 frame damaged beyond repair?"
