ive been noticing my 250 will misfire when revving, weird thing is it seems to pull through all the gears good, when I rev it with the clutch in it sounds like its got a limiter like a 4stroke 450. my jetting is 42 pilot,180 main with a pwk38.. shearer pipe, carls porting.. ive replaced the stator assembly and coil, this problem is hit or miss, sometimes it runs great does this sound like a cdi problem??
biggest thing is when its doing it I cant launch, not even in 1rst gear in sand with 13 42gears
What needle are you running in your 38pwk
I believe its the dgh needle, il have to double check
Our CR80 with a kart cylinder will do the same thing. Acts just like its on a rev limiter (sounds pretty badass lol)
Not the same thing I mean lol it doesn't misfire. Just acts like its on the limiter. I believe it's cause it's running out of fuel/air flow. Our 85 is RETARDEDLY ported though.
This may seem odd but have you tried replacing your plug?
yeah I've tryed changing plug acpl times, it seems really flat up top too when its acting up
check marks on stator to make sure they are lined up, or sounds like your jetting may be of

Most two strokes act rich at high RPM without a load on the engine. It might be a little rich but you are close to having the correct main jet if it pulls through the lower gears without a high RPM miss-fire.
If you install a main jet that runs clean at high RPM in neutral it will be too lean under a load.
