There is one for sale locally in decent shape with claimed very little use since new. The asking price is $1400...guy said he'd take $1300. Worth it? It started up and ran well. Thanks!
Welcome to the HQ.
Can you post up a pic of the bike?
I'll have to find a different pic as you can see the phone number.
I prefer the 87-93 quad racers because of the power valve and the rear swinger isn't prone to cracking. Front shocks have more travel too. Post a pic or link so we can check it out

All small issues that are easily addressed. My 86 has PV, 88 swinger, and 89 shocks
I know they can be addressed if you already have a 86 but why go through the trouble of swapping everything out when you can get a 87+ from the start?
I ran it as stock 86 for a while, upgrading over time. Never stock tinkering and improving stuff.

That's the truth. With these things your never "really" done improving and changing your set up
If its a runner, and doesn't need a buttload of work, $1300 sounds good. Do it! There are many little things you can do to the 85-86 250's to gain more power.
where is this 86 250 ??
As it says below ,i have an 86 for sale .It sounds very much like mine one to be honest !!!
