It will still be a huge improvement with stock ports.

if you plan on being wide open most of the time, then yes, blocking the pv is ok. Doesnt improve power or anything. Most drag LT's have their pv blocked.

All you're doing is reducing functionality of the engine.
It won't hurt you much up top (check rogue1970's dyno posts for how much power you can expect to lose), but it'll hit more like a lightbulb with less usable power before you get on the pipe.
Tune the PV and you'll make more power.
BTW, why are you posting about a shearer pipe in HPR's territory?

The power valve is a snap if you take the time to make sure it's clean and functional. I would put up the extra effort and get full use of the motor.

It will run fine on stock ports. I have some trial porting on mine but the ports are stock. But the pipe runs alot better on a head thats modded. But when i talk to Matt he said the power valve is one the reason it works well. But its a great pipe and you can just keep making it better with the more mods you do.

Yea the quad is still in the works. But the heat shield works really well. The pipe can be red hot and you can touch the heat shield by hand its barely warm. Its sound bad(pg). It has alot more rev then other pipes. I still working out bug on my quad but im getting to run better.I thinking about get the jug ported soon.Or going to a bigger sleeve with porting and a pro head cut for the right squish. When you get it keep us update and make some videos of your quad.
