I have fresh pj 38 carb. Was wondering if it would be any good on my 91 250 I'm restoring. I will be using it on a stockish motor, v2 reeds and q pipe. Is it worth the time, pain in the butt, better off using OEM 34mm?
I got it when I was building my zilla and never used it. I had my stock tm38 bored to 41mm. So it's just been sitting since.
Any ideas?
I've got the quad vent PJ38,,, havent put it on yet but i finally got my jets for it. Gunna wait till this summer since its already cold as hell here.
But this is what Q told me: 250's are finicky with jetting, Keihin are finicky with jetting, and the PJ is the most finicky of the lot. So you have 3x the touchiness that you are trying to tune on. But when you do finally get it right it is a very solid carb and will run pretty good. But then he told me what he would charge for boring the stock mikuni but I'm still gunna go to the PJ.
i think i ordered 162 main, 50 pilot, not sure what needle i have but its on the middle notch.
those jets would probably be fat for your motor because mine is ported to hell and back with a PSI pipe.
It would run good for you more than likely
