• What are the chances of my piston breaking when the top end blows up. It has the stock piston in it

• Pistons break when the clearance is excessive or something else in the engine tries to occupy the same space as the piston at the same time.

• I think you are becoming paranoid about a massive top end failure happening to your bike. Buy a compression tester. regularly do compression test. when you notice a sizable loss in compression (I think its 15%) time for a topend rebuild. Preventitive maintenance is the key!

• A oem stock 250 should be @ 145-155 with a good ring seal. If cyl and head have been worked this will be higher or possibly lower.  All compression test does is check ring seal.
