ok so my clutch pulls in fine but then when i release it the clutch arm isnt snapping back like its supossed to does anyone know why ?
Where the cable connects to side cover make sure you twist the arm forward before putting the arm on and have your cable adjusted all the way out so you can adjust to make tighter and remove slack if there is some.
Pull the cover off and make sure the gear is grabbing onto the shaft coming out of the center of the basket i had to mess with mine to get it working right may need to adjust the perch arm as well
I may have explained that bad. Is your clutch lever hard to pull back or is it loose and sloppy?
Un hook the cable at the arm . Swing the arm forward, where does it stop, take a picture. Grab it with pliers and try to move it forward if it stopped. It should have spring tension on it. If not somtbing is not engaged correctly. Pull the cover.
If there is spring tension, take the arm off the shaft. Rotate the shaft forward until it stops. Check cable for any drag it shoukd move easily amd freely. If not replace or lubricate with wd40. Adjust the cable at the threaded adjuster on the cover to the middle . Place cable end into arm and slide it onto shaft with the cable as tight as you can by hand. Bolt it on re adjust slack to 2 mm at the hand lever. Should be good if its slow
here it is a normal position
Does it have spring pressure? Its a little too far forward and on backwards.
no there is no spring pressure and i have it just sitting on there cuz i had the clutch cover off what is supposed to have spring pressure the actual arm its self or the peace on the inside in the middle of the clutch basket ?
have you had a cable on it and hooked to the clutch handle on the handlebars? Or are you just trying to turn it by hand?
put the gear in make it tight turn it clockwise, put arm on have it in correct postion, tighten bolt, when arm is on you should not be able to move it with your hand.
counter clockwise yes but not foward. put cable on and try it out.
if this dont work next is the basket, but make sure you can move your cable with your hands back and forth.
