ok when i start my lt250r at idle it rattle and ive heard its normal and all but it drives me
**** nuts what can i do to fix it does anyone know i did notice when i rebuilt it that at the bottem of the crank rod it moved side to side not very much but could that be it ?
the rod will move side to side in the crank but up and down slop=bad take a video of it so we can hear what you are hearing.
are all the motor mounts tight
Also, pull in the clutch lever to see if it goes away.
Did you start with a fresh bore or just honed it.
ok so there is o up and down play and it is a resh bore .80 over
Does it do at idle.l or a little above idle
both at idle and when i rev it
Does it go away when you pull in the clutch?
Sound like piston is loose. Piston slap
. I would doing a tear down thats not normal or good.
Yea man that's definitely piston hitting something or something else hitting something else holy shite.....
I was told mine is just weak clutch dampner springs. Yours sounds like it's in the top end.
Yea Chuck thats what mine sound like before I put a new basket in it. But this motor we listen to has a big issue.
does it change at all when you pull clutch in tho
If the noise goes away when you pull the clutch in, that's where you need to go.
Worn out clutch basket, clutches or bearing.
Usually, the clutch basket fingers wear, causing notches.
Clutch basket has rivets that hold on the backing plate work loose over time also
I think this problem is worse then clutch basket
ok so iv thought abou this for a couple days and when i pull the clutch in it makes no difference but i took pictures of the cranks rod at the bottem where it moves side to side would this be it ?
The rod will move side to side on the lower rod bearing. That is normal.
Does it move up and down?
