LT500 Front shocks

So looking to upgrade my front shock situation. Anyone have some good condition aftermarket front shocks they'd like to sell? Let me know what you got! Thanks people!

Banshee shocks are 14.75" that is a good alternative or you can also run YFZ450 shocks but they are 15.5" so they'll push on your BJ's unless you change the upper mount locations.
Fuss really likes the elka dune editions he got on the group fro under $400 shipped.

I've got banshee shocks on it right now, my stock LT shocks need new bearings and bushings on both ends. Looking for something with some better ride quality. I could do 450 shocks although I'd hat to grind off the upper mounts on my freshly powder coated frame. Hey Bret what's the chances of getting some mounts like you made for your 450 shock conversion?

These where a one off eye ball, figure it out as I went deal so it's what ever the chances of you buying some square or box tubing and making them are.
The 450 shocks will also fit with stock upper mounts you just run the risk of the Ball Joints being pushed out. I know a lot of guys that run them this way for years without problems. If you do run them this way I'd put in new ball joints just to be safe.
I think they're like $20-25 each, cheap insurance IMHO.

i love my elkas, and the olhins and works shocks all do great. i guess what you really need are shocks set up for your weight.

I've got all new everything chassis wise, ball joints ASR tie rods and heims a arm bearings you name it it's new. I might try some 450 shocks if they're worth it for ride quality and weight.
Grk I wish I could afford some elkas and I was bidding on a rough set of ohlins like you have on chromezilla but got out bid with 2 seconds left. I hate it when that happens!!!

They look like they're in really good shape. I think I got a pretty good deal for $202.50. Anyone know how difficult removing the triple rate springs is so I can have them powder coated?

Dual rate. Blue is one rate, white is another rate. The triple rate have a red top spring. That's the heaviest there is I believe. You basically have AT Stealers with rezzie's. Same exact thing as mine

Those are triple rate chuck. Not always they have 3 different color springs. Pep does three color springs setup. Most photo of works do that so the springs dont bend in.

Here is mine see the 2 post were the springs sit. if they double rate their only be one. If your has the 2 circle peice that the springs sit on you have triple rate. Il check a pic of yours.

According to the owner of So Cal Suspension Systems they're triple rate. I'm gonna go with he probably knows a little bit more about shocks then you Chuckie just on a limb though.

Something with a rezzie vs a non rezzie isn't the same thing either. A shock with remote rez will be better than one with no Rez.

Also Chuckie you have it backwards the top two springs of a triple rate are for light and intermediate bumps or loads the large bottom primary spring is for heavy bumps or large loads if set up properly so the top spring should be the softest of the three.
But looking at Heinz you do have triple rate shocks without rezzies so these are the same as yours plus a remote rezzie.

The owner of SO Cal isn't doing shocks last time I talked to him. He is having some health problems.
He is the one that did my shocks.

He's not Freak I just messaged him to find out some specifics about these shocks. Told me to mic the springs and call works to find out what weight rider they're set up for and if they're not set up for my weight I'd be better off selling them for a small profit and buying different shocks then buying new springs.

Well then the reading I've done about suspension has been wrong then. Lol. And I guess I have triple rate shocks. It sure is funny though that after mic'ing the springs the top two were the same size.

What that means is it's set up to be stiffer through the first two levels of compression. Likely set up for a heavy rider that's my worry with these shocks.
