LT250R custom pegs
« on: June 24, 2013, 09:35:38 am »
Does anyone here make pegs for the 250?  I want some that a little wider and look better.  I know a Banshee guy that already said he can make some, but I want to know if there is anyone that has the template or has some already fabricated.

you might msg Dale.  He mods the fat roll design footpegs to fit the 500.  He may know which bike is a close swap and the mods you need to do to get it to fit correctly.

RIS makes pegs for the 500, I don't remember if they interchange on the 250.

I made some billet pegs today on Solid Edge while at work.  7075-T6.  These are some gangsta ass pegs, I'd stand on them.

If I get enough time today, I will make another drawing of a peg, I didn't save that one.  I will do some quick stress analysis on Solid Edge to see how much the cut through affects the strength.  I'm guessing it won't work.  Cutting them like that would increase the cost a bit too.

If cutting through affects the strength only cut in an 1/8 of an inch. That will still look sweet and you could paint inside the letters

I did some stress analysis.  The stress is derived from Alum 7075-T6.  Bolt hole plate is 0.5", holes are 12mm.  Peg is 6.5" and overall length is 7".  I used a 600lbf spread evenly over the peg.  This is a 2" wide peg.  There is also a 0.5" radius on the bottom side of the peg above the bolt holes.

This is a very quick sketch.  This should give everyone an idea of where the high stress areas are.
