Anyone have any experience with the HiPer carbon fiber beadlock rims?
Only experience I've had with them was on the first generation of them. Had a rider sponsored by the dealership I was working at lose a rear wheel on the landing of a jump after the center broke out of it. He was leading that moto too. Never paid anyone to them after that.
I have been running hipers on my yfz since 07. Not sure what generation they are. I have put literally hundreds of hours on them from mx to big rocks. No problems at all. I have heard about some failures from other riders, but i have been very happy.
Love mine. Way better than anything aluminum in rocky terrain.
I'm thinking about a set of these for my LTR450....flattened out one of my G-Force rims on the last ride and blew a brand new Razr :/
This set of wheels has raced the Dilla Gnnc the last 4 years never had a problem and its nasty.
Carl you woods ride I guess then too? What about hill climbing if so maybe we should meet up at treverton..
Are they worth the money over standard bead locks?
For extreme woods and desert yes. The carbon locks hold up better than anything I've ever seen and you don't cringe every time you ding a boulder they don't make a sound unless its a thud but no metallic sounds at all. I also run a tag poly skid plate. Well worth the money.
Sweet!!! Glad I didn't just waste money then!
DP, no I don't have many hill climbs around here just ravines if a climb is on a trail its one thing. Depends on what bike I'm riding really. But my idea of fun is not watching 5- 10k roll down a hill.
I agree with Carl my idea of fun is watching $5k-$10k scream up a hill!!! Lol
Only if its not my 5-10 k going down the hill.
i went riding this past weekend and my buddy had a brand new 4x4 quad 199.9 miles on it when it rolled end over end about 8 times.
all you heard was loud crunching, busted front and rear plastic, bent all the racks and front bumper and bars were trashed, busted speedo
off to, i felt so bad for the bike, jake did jump off in time tho.
but i think cobrazilla has a set of those rims and he said he liked them a lot, to much money for me to spend on a set of them.
What are you putting those on Chuck?
they have to be the easiest rim to put a tire on. put a set on my buddies 450r a few years back.

How so? cause the beads unbolting?
I have them on my YFZ also. I have been running them for atleast 5 years now. They take alot of abuse from these Michigan trees and roots on our trails.
Gotta say I love the look of them and I'm the only one with negative input
I might need to give them a try. What's everyone using for a bolt pattern on them?
4/110 for mine.
If you like them you'll probably want to find someone selling some used ones like I did....
$289 a piece for the rear rims and then to get the different colored beadlocks it's $32 a ring..
Yeah I'll add them to my watch list. Its a long list these days.
