• I've had my '85 LT250R mothballed for many years and now I'm getting back into it.  I always ran Bell Ray MC1 oil without issue.  In the age of biofuel brilliance (aka ethanol) is MC1 still the ticket and if so what octane.  This may also be a shocker, but I always ran the MC1 at 50:1 without issue--this was according to the dealer.  Is this nuts?

• Good question.  I wondered the same, but according to Google, there are lots of places that sell it.  I suppose that's not to say Bell Ray is no more and places are selling odd lots and end runs.  Sure is more expensive than when I bought it in 1986!

• typical is 32:1 for most bikes.  Some run 24:1 on the more radical ones.  100LL aviation fuel or better or detonation will occur.  might not be enough to melt down your bike, but it will shorten the life span of your piston and possibly damage the cylinder.

• Rule of thumb is : 24 to 1 for Hill Shooting / Standard Riding 32 to 1
  Best way to figure what is the best ratio for your type of riding is to test ratios while riding, mixing higher rations until you notice some fouling of plugs then back down the ratio, everyone rides differently and has different lubrication needs.
  FYI factory states 20:1

  egv is a platinum thin wire electrode plug and the es is the copper core electrode plug.

   OEM BR8EGV or BR8E or the non resistor plugs...B8EGV or B8ES

• You want a castor based 2 stroke oil, the coat better and do not disperse from heat.
  
  You want to run Maxima 927 or Klotz.  Klotz does have I believe benoil and a super techniplate, there are some cautions when using the supertechniplate as I believe there are 2 different kinds/formulas of this stuff.

• Ford type f is not bad for the colder weather. It is cheap too but prolly breaks down faster so if you would use it maybe change it more often

• not much cheaper for me 117.52 last time i bought 2 cans but it seems to store very well and both the LT and Blaster are cut for race fuel. so with me working all the time sometimes it takes me forever to get through 5 gal. was thinking about buying a drum but your only saving a couple bucks a can

• Thats why I love running methanol. Going price now is 180 for a 50 gallon drum.
